Single Bench (grand)
The Single Bench (grand) is an extended variation of the Single Bench (petit).
It is one of the first pieces that was made and sold from our studio, and therefore a foundation form that informs our design style and ethos. The Original Stool came first, then the Single Bench, then the End Table Chair, the Standard Console and the Double Bench. Those five set the vocabulary the collection still works within.
Its frame is simple and adaptable. The seat is supported by zigzag legs, equally geometric and playful, with no apron and no stretcher. The geometry does the bracing and is the support.
Designed to fit two people, its simplicity creates plurality, and allows it to be placed in any room. The practical difference between this and the petite is only size.
It lends itself to custom dimensions and has five sister designs: Single Bench (petit), Striped Bench, Double Bench, Standard Console and Striped Console.
Made in birch plywood and hand-finished in our atelier in Paris. The laminated edge is left exposed at every cut.
Studio Goons is a Paris-based collectible furniture and design atelier founded in 2020 by architect Paul Trussler and designer Mia Kim. Every piece is designed, prototyped and hand-built by us, signed and numbered.
