You & Me
Six pieces created for Monde Singulier, built on one idea: the entrance is not a passage, it is the first room of the house.
A collection made for Monde Singulier and available through the gallery. Where most furniture is designed for a room people stay in, this was designed for the one they move through, and for the interactions that happen there whether or not anyone intends them. Arriving, leaving, waiting, and doing all of it either alone or alongside someone else.
That produced a collection about doubling. Every piece exists as a version for one and a version for two. Just For Me Bench is a single plane at seat height, for a person putting on their shoes. One For Me One For You Bench is two planes at different heights for two people of different heights coming or going. The mirrors follow the same logic, single and double, hanging or leaning, with the decision left to the room. The table takes what an entrance actually receives, keys, post, a bag set down, a sculpture or a large arrangement of flowers.
An undulating zigzag base runs through the benches and the mirror frames and gives the six pieces one language. Built in birch plywood with a satin oak finish, hand-built and finished in Paris.
